In the present petition, the petitioners seek initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent for implementation of the judgment and order dated 08.12.016 passed by this Hon’ble Court in SWP No. 1623/2016 titled “Mohd Razak and others Vs. State of J&K and others”. This Court vide order dated 08.12.2016 disposed of the writ petition with following directions to the respondents: a. to complete the process of selection in a time bound manner; and b. to take a final decision with regard to the process of selection, which was initiated in the year 2005, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order passed by this Court today. 2. The respondent has filed its statement of facts, wherein it has been stated that the Prisons Department had approached the Home Department vide communications dated 30.09.2015, 01.08.2016, 08.12.2016, 13.12.2016 and 14.03.2017 to take the process of recruitment to its logical conclusion CPSW No. 207/2017 __________ so that the department will be able to overcome the problem faced due to the shortage of staff. 3. It is further submitted that the Administrative Department which is the competent authority for taking such decision regarding finalization of selection of warders in the Prisons Department. 4. Notice in this petition was issued on 28.04.2017. Thereafter, the petitioners have not taken any step for listing of the matter. Today also, when the matter was taken up, no one appeared, which makes it clear that the petitioners are not interested in pursuing the matter. 5.
