Kotwal, Advocate vice Mr. Ravinder Gupta, AAG Coram: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 04.05.2026 Vide this petition, the petitioners pray for initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent-Authorities for willful defiance of the interim order dated April 12, 2016, rendered by the Writ Court in SWP No.752/2016 (Tarsaim Lal Thapa & anr. Vs. State of J&K and ors.). A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that the Writ Court, while issuing notice to the respondents had required the Authorities to consider the claim of the petitioners under rules and having regard to the orders passed by the Supreme Court, appended with the petition. The records show that subsequently on October 28, 2021, the main case itself was transferred by this Court to the Central Administrative Tribunal, Jammu. None is present either on behalf of the petitioners to point out if the lis between the parties still survives or the matter is still pending consideration before the Tribunal. That being so, the Court is choiceless, but to dismiss the petition for non-prosecution.
