HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT JAMMU CJ Court Case: CPSW No. 324/2017 in SWP No. 570/2017 Jagdish Singh ….. Appellant/Petitioner(s) Through: None Vs L. Mohanti, A.D.G.P & anr. .…. Respondent(s) Through: None Coram: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 30.04.2026 Vide this petition, the petitioner seeks initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent-Authorities for willful defiance of the order and judgment dated March 10, 2017, rendered by the Writ Court in SWP No. 570/2017 (Jagdish Singh vs. State & ors.). A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that in the petition preferred by the petitioner, he has prayed to the respondents to release increment in his favour for the year 2011, with a further direction to the Authorities to grant ex-gratia/compensation and he be also allotted accommodation at Jammu. And the matter was disposed of by the Writ Court with the direction to the competent authority to consider the claim of the petitioner and pass a speaking order. Statement of facts/compliance report on behalf of the respondents has been filed and per which the order dated March 10, 2017 (ibid) has since been implemented in letter and spirit and a speaking order No. 484 of 2017 dated July 04, 2017 has been issued in this regard. That being so, nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
