Respondent(s) Through: Ms. Saliqa Sheikh, Assisting Counsel to Mr. Raman Sharma, Sr. Advocate (AAG) Coram: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 04.05.2026 Vide this petition, the petitioners seek initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent-Authorities for willful non-compliance of the order and judgment dated October, 28, 2016, rendered by this Court in SWP No. 2334/2016 (Jyoti Sharma Vs State of J&K and Ors.). A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that the petition preferred by the petitioners was disposed of by the Writ Court with a direction to the respondents to complete the selection process having regard to communication NO. ZEOK/506-512 dated October 15, 2014 issued by the Zonal Education Officer, Khour, within a specified time. Learned counsel for the respondents, at the outset, submits that in compliance of the direction issued by this Court vide order dated October 28, 2016 in SWP No. 2334 of 2016 (Jyoti Sharma and Ors. Vs State of J&K and Ors.), the claim of the petitioner was considered and rejected by the competent authority being devoid of any merit and a reasoned order No. CEOJ/legal/30073-76 dated September 19, 2018 was passed, in this regard. Accordingly, she submits that nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same be disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. Ordered accordingly.
