Respondent(s) Through: None Coram: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 30.04.2026 Vide this petition, the petitioners had sought initiation of the contempt proceedings against the respondent-Authorities for willful/deliberate non- compliance of the order and judgment dated June 30, 2016 rendered by the Writ Court in SWP No. 1336/2016 (Zahid Qummer and ors. Vs. State and ors.). A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that the petition preferred by the petitioners was disposed of by the Writ Court with a direction to the respondent-Authorities to consider the representation moved by the petitioners for appointment as operational staff for the maintenance and operation of Rural Water Supply Scheme in PHE Department, provided they are eligible in terms of the rules and regulations under the Rural Water Supply Scheme. Response on behalf of the respondent has been filed, which shows that the claim of the petitioners was considered and rejected vide a detailed order dated October 07, 2017 by the Chief Engineer, PHE Department, Jammu. That being so, nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
