Respondent(s) Through: None Coram: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 30.04.2026 Vide this petition, the petitioners seek initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondents for willful disobedience of the order dated September 24, 2015, rendered in SWP No. 1072/2013 (Raj Singh versus State of J&K and others). A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that the petition preferred by the petitioners was disposed of by the Writ Court with a direction to respondent Nos. 1 to 5 to circulate fresh seniority list reflecting the names of the petitioners and other similar situated persons at appropriate places after following due process of law and thereafter take action for promotion to the next higher posts within a specified time. The petition is pending since 2017 and nearly a decade has gone. None is present either on behalf of the petitioners to clarify if anything actually survives in the matter.
