Coram:
HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE
ORDER 30.04.2026
Vide this petition, the petitioner seeks initiation of the contempt proceedings against the respondents owing to willful defiance of the order and
judgment dated May 15, 2015, rendered by the Writ Court in SWP No. 1443/2015 (Nissar Ahmed vs. State of J&K & ors.).
A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that the petition preferred by the petitioner was disposed of with a direction to the respondent No. 2 to consider and decide the claim of the petitioner for appointment to a vacancy in the lowest rank of non-gazetted service in terms of Rule 3 of the J&K Compassionate Appointment Rules, 1994.
Learned counsel for the respondents submits that in compliance to the
judgment referred to above, the competent Authority has duly considered the claim of the petitioner and the same was rejected by passing a speaking order dated November 24, 2017 being devoid of merit. That being so, nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
