1. The petitioner, through the medium of the present petition, seeks a direction upon the respondents to permit online registration of the name of the petitioner for appearing in the departmental examination SAS (Civil Accounts) PC-13, which is scheduled to be conducted by the end of September, 2017, the said examination being mandatory for promotion of the petitioner to the post of Assistant Accounts Officer, for which the petitioner claims to be fully eligible and entitled. The petitioner further seeks a direction upon the respondents to declare his result in the aforesaid examination and to grant promotion to the petitioner upon qualifying the said examination.
2. Notice in this petition was issued on 21.09.2017. In the interim, by way of an ad interim direction and subject to objections, it was directed that, having regard to communication dated 05.09.2017 of the Accountant General, the Director General (Exams), respondent No. 4

herein, shall permit the petitioner and shall not cause any hindrance in his online registration for participating in the SAS (Civil Accounts) PC-13, 2017 examination.
3. It appears that, in terms of the interim order dated 21.09.2017, the petitioner was permitted to complete the online registration, and the examination in question was conducted in the month of September, 2017.
4. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that, to the best of his knowledge, no contempt petition in this regard is pending adjudication.
5. In view of the above, the relief sought in the present petition stands substantially worked out and, with the efflux of time, the petition has been rendered infructuous. Accordingly, the instant writ petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous.
