HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT JAMMU CJ Court Case: CPSW No. 289/2016 in SWP No. 1941/2013 Kamla Choudhary & Anr. ….. Appellant/Petitioner(s) Through: None Vs O P Bhagat, C.E. Osamba & Anr. .…. Respondent(s) Through: Ms. Saliqa Sheikh, Assisting Counsel vice Mr. Raman Sharma, AAG Coram: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 24.04.2026 Vide this petition, the petitioners seek initiation of the contempt proceedings against the respondents owing to intentional non-compliance of the order and judgment dated October 17, 2014 rendered in SWP No. 1941/2013 (Kamla Choudhary & anr. Vs. State and ors.) A bare analysis of the order referred to above shows that the petition preferred by the petitioners was disposed of by the Writ Court with a direction to the Deputy Commissioner, Samba to enquire into the matter within a period of four weeks. And he was further directed to forward the report, on completion of enquiry to the Chief Education Officer, Samba, for necessary action. Who in turn, thereafter was required to consider the matter in issue and pass the necessary orders. Compliance report on behalf of respondent No. 1 (Chief Education Officer, Samba) has been filed and it appears that the matter as directed by this Court was enquired into and thereafter the enquiry report was submitted. Be that as it may, for, none is present on behalf of the petitioners to pursue the petition, which is pending for over a decade, this Court is choiceless, but to dismiss the petition for non-prosecution. ( (ARUN PALLI) CHIEF JUSTICE Jammu 24.04.2026 Pawan Chopra/Secy. Sr.No. 14 Pawan Chopra 2026.04.24 20:57 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
