As against the order passed in W.A.Nos.1224, 1225, 1327 of 2012 and 68 of 2014, the respondent/Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Coimbatore Division-I) Limited, has filed S.L.P. (C) Nos.4755-4758 of 2021 before the Supreme Court and the same was disposed of vide judgment dated 18.03.2025 rejecting the appeals, however, in paragraph 8 of the judgment, the Supreme Court has passed the following order: “8. It goes without saying that the Writ Petitioners shall be paid their dues of pension as per the computation directed hereinabove within 1st July, 2025 and their pension shall be recomputed and paid from June, 2025. If any delay is caused, dues of pension and gratuity shall carry interest at the rate of 7% per annum from the date of entitlement insofar as the pension dues are concerned and from the date of superannuation insofar as the gratuity dues are concerned. The Corporation would be entitled to recover such interest from those of its employees, who occasions the delay, after issuing prior notice to them.” 3. Learned counsel for the respondent submitted that, in pursuance of the judgment passed by the Supreme Court, the benefits have already been settled vide order dated 13.08.2026 and the amount has been paid to the respective employees. In view of the above, these contempt petitions are closed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioners to avail appropriate remedy, in accordance with law, if so advised. No costs.
