The challenge enclosed in the present writ petition is to the final seniority list, as circulated and published by the respondent(s), in respect of the cadre of “Work Munshi” as on 31.08.2014. 2. Consequent upon issuance of notice, the respondent-department filed its reply, disclosing therein that the cadre of the petitioners had already been changed from “Work Munshi” to “Road Inspector” and they were thereafter promoted to the post of “Junior Engineer” against the 15% quota for employees possessing a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. It has further been brought to the notice of this Court today that the petitioners have since retired upon attaining the age of superannuation. 3. This Court specifically queried learned counsel for the petitioners as to whether the feeder cadre for the post of “Road Inspector” is that of “Work Munshi”, to which he fairly responded in the negative. In summa, this Court finds no merit in the present writ petition, and the same is accordingly dismissed. 5. Pending application(s) also stand disposed of accordingly.
