The order passed by the Hon’ble Apex Court is extracted hereunder: “This petition arises out of order dated 19.08.2016 passed on an application seeking rejection of the Election Petition in E.P.No.1 of 2014. By the impugned order, the said application was dismissed and the Election Petition was posted before the High Court. The election in question concerns the Ramanathapuram Parliamentary Constituency (16th Lok Sabha Elections) held in the year 2014. At this point of time, we find that further consideration of this matter is wholly academic although Election Petition No.1 of 2014 is still pending before the High Court. That, in the year 2026, we find the consideration of this matter to be only of academic relevance and hence, we do not find any reason to consider this Special Leave Petition any further. Hence, the same stands dismissed. The High Court may pass consequential orders in accordance with law.” 3.
