ORDER:
1. The petitioner is seeking a direction from this Court to the respondents to promote him to the post of Senior Line Inspector, as he is the next senior- most candidate in the seniority list, and is due to retire on 30.06.2014. The writ petition was filed on 23.06.2014. This Court, vide order dated 25.06.2014, directed the respondents to consider the case of petitioner for promotion forthwith, in accordance with the rules, subject to his satisfying the requisite criteria. 2.
The respondents have filed a counter, stating that the petitioner is not entitled to promotion as Senior Line Inspector, as the only retirement vacancy arose on 30.04.2014, and the petitioner would still have to await his turn for promotion. However, the petitioner attained the age of superannuation on 30.06.2014, and as such, his case could not be considered. 3. According, no further orders are required to be passed. The writ petition is, therefore, closed. There shall be no order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ___________________ JUSTICE HARINATH.N Date:09.04.2026 NKA
