The original awarded amount, for which a settlement was arrived at Rs 1,45,300/- along with 6% interest from the date of filing has already been satisfied by the insurer by paying the total amount of Rs. 1,96,795/-. This appeal has been settled by the parties for an additional amount of Rs. 2,20,000/-. The total amount for which the entire claim is settled is thus Rs. 4,16,795/-. The insurers shall deposit the additional amount of Rs. 2,20,000/- before the Registry of this Court within 45 days, in which event the settled amount shall not carry any further interest. If there is a delay beyond 45 days, statutory interest would apply. Upon satisfaction of the settlement amount by the insurer, the same shall be released to the claimant for proper identification.
