Review Petition had been filed seeking to re-examine the order of the Division Bench dated 22.08.2013 in WP(MD)No.13601 of 2013. 2.The said writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents therein to consider extension of Free Bus Pass Scheme to the students studying in Government Law Colleges in Tamil Nadu. The Division Bench had examined the relief sought and had also noted that Free Bus Pass Scheme is extended to students, who study in Government Colleges in Arts and Science and also to those who are studying in ITI and also in Government Engineering Colleges. 3.The Division Bench was of the opinion that there was no justifiable reason to deny extension of such Free Bus Pass Scheme to students of Government Law Colleges. The only reason why the said order is being sought to be reviewed is that a Law Degree is a professional degree and therefore, the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis REV.APLW(MD) No. 47 of 2013 __________ Page3 of 4 students need not be extended with such Free Bus Pass Scheme. But, however it is the students who are going to be benefited. If students from the rural area want to pursue law, one of the facilities which should be extended is to provide them access to Law Colleges and not to incur expenditure in that. 4.We are also confident that the Government, which has today extended the Scheme for women to travel in a more congenial atmosphere in buses and in transport afforded by the Government, would also consider extension of Free Bus Pass Scheme to the students of the Government Law College students. So we find no reason to interfere with the order or to recall the order. 5.The review application stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
