Through the medium of the instant petition, the petitioner has sought the following relief: “i) to issue directions to the respondents to promote the petitioner to the rank of ASI and to give the effect of promotion retrospectively w.e.f. 5.4.2012, the date the petitioner has become eligible for promotion to the rank of ASI and also to give the consequential benefits of promotion retrospectively to the petitioner, by issuance of writ of mandamus; ii) to issue directions to the respondents to place the petitioner at proper place in the seniority list of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (GD) by giving effect of promotion retrospectively, by issuance of writ of mandamus; iii) to declare the act of respondents by which the respondents have not given promotion to the rank of ASI as the petitioner is fully eligible and entitled for the same and the respondents have given promotion to the similarly situated persons and ignored the petitioner and have not placed the petitioner at proper place in the seniority list of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (GD) by effect of promotion retrospectively, as ultra vires, illegal, arbitrary, unconstitutional, unjust and contrary to the provisions of law and Sr. No. 32 SWP No. 2260/2012 Page 2 of 2 Rules and against the provisions of principles of natural justice, by issuance of writ of mandamus; and iv) to issue any other writ, order or directions which the Hon'ble Court may in favour of the petitioner and against the respondents with costs.” 2. Mr. Rohan Nanda, learned CGSC submits that the present petition has been rendered infructuous as the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed, who has since been promoted to the rank of ASI, vide order dated 11.04.2013, a copy of which has been placed on record as Annexure-‘E’ with the reply filed in the connected petition. 3. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous along with all connected applications as the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed.
