ORDER SHEET IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA CONSTITUTIONAL WRIT JURISDICTION ORIGINAL SIDE
WPO/807/2011 SIDDHI NATH NANDY & ORS. VS THE KOLKATA PORT TRUST & ORS.
BEFORE:
The Hon'ble JUSTICE HIRANMAY BHATTACHARYYA Date: 12th March, 2026.
Appearance: Mr.Swarnava Ray, Adv. …for petitioner.
Mr. Nilay Sengupta, Adv. Mr.Snehashis Sen, Adv. …for respondent.
The Court:- When this matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioners prays for an accommodation on the ground that this is an old matter. The writ petitioners have prayed for a direction upon the port trust authorities to take necessary steps to issue rent bills and to correct the records and to mutate the name of the petitioners for use and occupation of the port trust property. No useful purpose will be sub-served in keeping the writ petition pending. As observed earlier that this writ petition is of the year 2011 and in the meantime certain subsequent events might have cropped up. In view thereof, WPO/807/2011 is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioners to make a comprehensive representation before the concerned authority
