1. The writ petition was adjourned sine die vide order dated 16th September, 2016 to await the judgment in LPA No.724/2011. The judgment in the LPA was delivered on 10th January, 2023. 2. The said judgment was challenged before the Supreme Court by way of SLP (C) No. 863/2024. The said SLP was dismissed vide order dated 8th January, 2024. The operative part of the said order is set out below:
“The special leave petition is dismissed. However, liberty is reserved to the petitioners to formulate a scheme which would be non-discriminatory with regard to all consumers who have dues vis- a-vis the petitioner company and which could be in the form of one settlement for recovery of dues in accordance with law. Pending applications, if any, shall stand disposed of.”
3. None has been appearing on behalf of the petitioner in the present writ petition. 4. Court notice was directed to be served on the petitioner. Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of while directing the respondent no.1/BRPL to deal with the present case as and when the scheme is framed.
