Present appeal has been filed by the appellant, Ved Parkash, challenging the judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 08.04.2005 passed by the learned Special Judge, whereby the appellant was convicted for the offences punishable under Section 7 read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and ₹ to pay a fine of 2,000/-. In default of payment of the fine, he was further directed to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months. 2. Mr. R.S. Chauhan, learned counsel for the appellant, and learned State counsel are ad idem that, during the pendency of the present appeal, the appellant, Ved Parkash, expired on 10.12.2023. In support thereof, learned State counsel has placed on record a photocopy of the statement of the deceased appellant's son as well as the death certificate RASHMI 2026.07.09 10:34 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRA-S-737-SB-2005(O&M) 2 dated 12.12.2023.
