The hearing of the Writ Petitions has been adjourned twice, that is, on 06.01.2026 and 10.02.2026. None appeared for the parties on 06.01.2026 and an adjournment was sought on behalf of the Petitioners on 10.02.2026. 3. On account of alleged reduction in work, the service of the Respondents was terminated on 20.06.2003 while granting them one month’s salary in lieu of notice and compensation at the rate of 15 days’ salary at current rate for each completed year with 240 days attendance. After termination of service, the respondents were re- engaged on the very next day. This is a digitally signed order. The Original Application bearing no. 2083/2003, which was filed by the Respondents, was allowed by way of order dated 15.09.2005 on the ground that the termination of the Respondents is illegal, arbitrary and unjust. The said order has been impugned in the present Writ Petitions. 5. On 14.12.2005, operation of the impugned order was stayed while issuing notice in the Writ Petitions. The stay was made absolute till disposal of the Writ Petitions on 18.08.2008. 6. Now, the present Writ Petitions have come up for hearing. 7. In the pre-lunch session, the learned counsel representing the Petitioners was requested to explain as to whether the Respondents have continued in service over all these years or not. In the post-lunch session, he has stated that the Department was wound up in March, 2021 and he is not in a position to get any information on this aspect. 8. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present Writ Petitions are disposed of with liberty to the Petitioners to file an application for revival if the cause for continuing the present Writ Petitions survives.
