In the present writ petitions, the petitioners seek quashing of the reversion order dated 22.10.1998 (Annexure P-4) and Notification dated 19.05.1990 (Annexure P-3) of Punjab Government to the extent that the said Notification was given retrospective effect by retrospectively abolishing the cadre of Senior Clerks and reducing the pay scale applicable to the posts of Clerks, Senior Clerks and Junior Assistants. 2. Nobody is appearing on behalf of the petitioners since Novemeber, 2025. The writ petitions were filed in the year 2001 and probably, the petitioners must have lost interest in pursuing the present remedy especially when they must have retired from service as of now. In view of the above, the present writ petitions are dismissed for non-prosecution. 4. However, since the recovery is already stayed in the present case and as per the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in State of Punjab and others Vs. Rafiq Masih (White Washer) etc., 2015(1) S.C.T., 195, no recovery could be done from the petitioners. 5. Civil miscellaneous application pending if any, also stands disposed of. 6.
