The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the auction proceedings held on 03.04.2001 qua the land of the petitioner as illegal, arbitrary and without jurisdiction and void ab initio. 2. Written statement was filed on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 wherein it has been stated that the auction proceedings dated 03.04.2001, which is the subject matter of challenge in the present writ petition, was cancelled by the Assistant Collector 1st Grade, Kurukshetra (DRO) under Section 10-A of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961. 3. Learned counsel for the State has pointed out that till date there has been no challenge to the said order.
