This is a petition filed under Section 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 for initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent for his willful disobedience of the order dated 12.01.2009. 2. Learned counsel for the respondent-State has submitted compliance affidavit dated 09.05.2026 and has highlighted para 5 of the said affidavit to show that the answering deponent had examined the application filed and after learning about the fact that earlier an inquiry had already been conducted and that the matter relates to money transactions during business dealings, it has been found that no police action is warranted. 3. Paragraph 5 of the said affidavit dated 09.05.2026 is reproduced hereinbelow: 5. That the above said application was marked by the Director General of Police to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana with the following directions:- “Please examine and dispose of at your level” PUNEET SACHDEVA 2026.05.13 09:27 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh COCP No.1998 of 2026 2 Accordingly office of the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana assigned PGD No.747774/747578 dated 17.02.2026 to the said application and entrusted the same to the answering deponent. Accordingly the answering deponent examined the said application during which it was revealed that earlier inquiry into the same allegations has already been conducted and that the matter relates to the money transactions during the business dealings between the parties which constitute civil dispute and no police action is warranted in the matter.” 4. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that in view of the same, the present contempt petition be disposed of. 5. Disposed of accordingly.
