1. The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 17.07.2025 passed by this Court in CWP-19772-2025, whereby respondents were directed to decide the legal notice dated 12.03.2025 by passing a speaking order.
2. In compliance of the order dated 17.07.2025 passed by this Court in CWP-19772-2025, compliance report by way of affidavit dated 25.05.2026 of Amit Talwar, Special Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab, along with speaking order dated 21.05.2026 (Annexure R-1), has been filed on behalf of respondent No.1 and compliance report by way of affidavit dated 26.05.2026 of Surjit Singh, VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2026.05.29 11:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
COCP-1981-2026 (O&M) -2- Block Development and Panchayat Officer, Kalanaur, District Gurdaspur, along with speaking order dated 21.05.2026 (Annexure R-2/1), has been filed on behalf of respondent No.2 in the Court. The same are taken on record. Copies of the same have been given to learned counsel for the petitioner.
3. A perusal of the said compliance affidavits shows that order dated 17.07.2025 passed by this Court in CWP-19772-2025 has been complied with.
3. In view of the above, since order dated 17.07.2025 passed by this Court in CWP-19772-2025, has been complied with, therefore, the present contempt is purged and rule stands discharged.
4. Needless to say that the petitioner is at liberty to avail remedy as is available to him in accordance with law to challenge the said speaking
order dated 21.05.2026.
