The petitioners, by way of this writ petition, seek directions to the respondents to enter their names in the Registers of Dental Hygienists, Dental Mechanics and Dental Assistants and issue necessary registration certificates in their favour keeping in view the fact that the petitioners being fully eligible and qualified and having applied for registration as Dental Hygienists and Dental mechanics pursuant to notification No. J&KSDC/Regn/DH&DM/2016 dated 04.01.2016. They also seek action not to be taken against the petitioners including sealing of their dental clinics. 02. It is submitted that the petitioners were seeking their registration in terms of the J&K Dental Council Rules, 2004 which have come into force vide SRO 116 of 2004 dated 01.04.2004 pursuant to the powers conferred under Section 55 of the Dentists Act, 1948. It is further submitted that Dentists Act, 1948 stands repealed by the National Dental Commission Act, 2023. 2 03. In view of the aforesaid, the prayer of the petitioners does not survive for adjudication. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. The petitioners are at liberty to avail any other remedy under law.
