Serial No.12 Regular Cause List HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR OWP 1941/2017 c/w CCP(S) 445/2023 Mst. Taja. …Petitioner(s) Through: None. Vs. State of J&K and Ors. ...Respondent(s) Through: Ms. Tabinda, Advocate for R-7 to 10. CORAM: Hon’ble Mr. Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Judge. ORDER 29.05.2026 OWP 1941/2017; 01. The record reveals that the instant matter is being unnecessarily dragged at the instance of the petitioner and this aspect of the matter was noted by this Court in terms of order dated 20th December, 2025, on which date, the learned proxy counsel appearing for the petitioner sought adjournment on the ground that the learned arguing counsel for the petitioner was not available due to some personal reasons, which was opposed by the learned counsel for the respondents. However, in the interest of justice, the matter was adjourned, with a rider that no further adjournment shall be granted on the next date of hearing. 02. Today, when the instant case was taken up for consideration, again there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner. Thus, an inference can be drawn that the petitioner has lost interest in prosecuting the instant matter, or that the cause for which the petition was filed way back in 2017, may no longer survive. 03. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is dismissed for want of prosecution. Interim direction, if any, shall stand vacated. CCP(S) 445/2023; 04. Since the main writ petition stands dismissed for want of prosecution, the instant contempt petition also does not survive, and, accordingly, the proceedings in the instant contempt petition are also closed. Rule, if any, shall stand discharged. 05. A copy of this Order be placed on the record of each file. (Wasim Sadiq Nargal) Judge SRINAGAR: 29.05.2026 “HAMID”
