BEFORE HONOURABLE MRS. JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER ORDER 08/06/2026 The instant application for stay of the Judgment and award dated 23.04.2024 passed by the learned MACT, Kamrup(M), Guwahati in MAC Case No.650/2020 has filed by the appellant praying for suspension of the impugned Judgment and award during the pendency of the MAC Appeal.
2. Heard learned counsel for the appellant, Mr. S.K. Goswami.
3. The learned counsel has submitted that the connected appeal has been admitted for hearing and the appeal has taken good ground for appeal, which is likely to succeed and therefore, in the interest of justice, the impugned award needs to be stayed during the pendency of the appeal.
4. The Court has considered the pleadings and prayer of the appellant and it is hereby directed that the impugned Judgment and award dated 23.04.2024 in MAC Case No.650/2020 shall remain suspended during the pendency of the MAC Appeal subject to the condition that the appellant shall deposit 20 lakh within 6 (six) weeks before the Registry of this Court.
