Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has already filed an application dated 09.04.2026 before the competent authority, namely the SDM, Khour, District Jammu, seeking demarcation of land measuring 16 Kanals falling under Khasra No. 728 min, situated at Revenue Village Matoo, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu. It is further submitted that a copy of the said application has also been furnished to the Tehsildar, Khour, for taking necessary action. However, despite the lapse of considerable time, no decision has been taken on the petitioner's application, compelling him to invoke the writ jurisdiction of this Court.
Learned counsel submits that the grievance of the petitioner would stand redressed if the competent authority is directed to consider and decide the aforesaid application within a stipulated time.
2. Notice is issued. Ms. Nisha Kangotra, learned counsel, waives notice on behalf of the respondents. In view of the nature of the relief sought and Serial No. 36

with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the matter is taken up for final disposal at this stage.
3. Having heard learned counsel for the parties and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, the present writ petition is
disposed of with a direction to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khour/ Tehsildar, Khour, to consider and decide the petitioner's application dated 09.04.2026, seeking demarcation of land measuring 16 Kanals falling under Khasra No. 728 min, situated at Revenue Village Matoo, Tehsil Khour, District Jammu, strictly in accordance with law. The authorities shall afford an opportunity of hearing to all affected and interested parties and shall pass a reasoned and speaking order within a period of two months from the date a copy of this order is made available to them.
4. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of along with all connected applications, if any. No order as to costs.
