(1) This Act may be called the [Working Journalists and other Newspaper Employees] (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955. (2) It extends to the whole of India [x x x x]. Subs. by Act 60 of 1974, sec. 2, for "Working Journalists" (w.e.f. 21/12/1974). The words "except the State of Jammu and Kashmir" omitted by Act 51 of 1970, sec. 2 and Sch. (w.e.f. 01/09/1971).
