The Chairman or the Vice-Chairman or a member referred to in clause (1) of section 4 may resign his office by notifying in writing his intention to do so to the prescribed authority and shall vacate his office on such resignation being accepted and the vacancy so caused shall be filled in such manner as may be prescribed.
