(1) Where the amount of compensation awarded under this chapter does not exceed Rs.5,000, it shall be paid entirely in cash, within one year from the date of the last order awarding compensation. (2) Where the amount of compensation awarded under this chapter exceeds Rs. 5,000, a sum of Rs. 5,000 shall be paid in cash within one year from the date of the last order awarding compensation, and the remainder shall be paid in bonds carrying interest at 2i per cent. per annum on the total sum awarded (less the sum of Rs.5,000 paid) with effect from such date and payable in ten equal annual instalments, the first annual instalment being due on the day one year after such date.
