(1) Any person, who wilfully obstructs an Inspector in the exercise of his powers or discharge of his duties under this Act, or intentionally omits to produce or deliver up, for inspection on demand by an Inspector appointed under this Act, any register, records or other documents, or intentionally omits to furnish any information required under this Act shall, on conviction be punished (a) for the first offence, with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with a fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both; and 16] THE KOLKATA GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, FEBRUARY 18, 2008 [PART III Previous sanction of the State Government necessary.
