(1) The Assessors shall, save where they are salaried Govern- ment Officers, be entitled to such remuneration, either by way of monthly salary or by way of fees or partly in one way and partly in the other, as the State Government may, from time to time, decide: Provided that, in exceptional cases where the scheme is a large one or the work involved is complicated, the State Government may authorise the Chairman and the Assessors, even if they are salaried Government Officers, to receive such special salary or remuneration, as the State Goverment may, by order, decide from time to time. (2) The salary of the Chairman of the Tribunal or an Assessor who is a salaried Government Officer, and any remuneration payable under sub-section (1) of this section and all expenses incidental to the working of the Tribunal shall, unless the State Government otherwise determines, be defrayed out of the funds of the Development Authority and shall be added to the cost of scheme. 156 The West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979.
