(1) The Finance Officer shall be a whole-time officer of the University. He shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendation of a committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellor as the Chairman, a nominee of the Chancellor, two nominees of the Executive Council and a nominee of the State Government for such period and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by Statutes. (2) The Finance Officer may resign his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Vice-Chancellor. (3) If the Finance Officer is for any reason temporarily unable to exercise the powers and perform the duties of his office, the Vice-Chancellor, with the approval of the Executive Council, may appoint a person temporarily for a period not exceeding six months to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Finance Officer.
