(1) If, in the opinion of the State Government, the Council,— (a) has persistently made default in performance of its functions under this Act, or (b) has exceeded or abused its power, the State Government may, by order published in the Official Gazette and stating the reasons thereof, supersede the Council for such period, not exceeding two years, as may be specified in the order, and take such steps as may be necessary to re-establish the Council immediately on the expiry of the period of supersession. Council to Furnish information. Power of the State Government to suspend proceedings. Certain persons to deem to be public servants. Indemnity. Power to make rules. Power to make regulations. Council to be guided by direction of State Government.
