(1) There shall be established and incorporated a University by the name of the St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. (2) The head quarter of the University shall be located within the Kolkata Metropolitan Area. (4) The Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor and other officers and employees of the University and the members of the Governing Board and the Executive Council, so long as they continue to hold such office or membership, shall constitute a body corporate by the name of the St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. (5) The University shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the name of the St. Xavier's University, Kolkata.
