Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (2) of the proviso to section 16 of the Bengal Municipal Act, 1932, and in Notification No. L.S.-G.1M-58/49(II), dated the 29th April, 1949, the period of appointment of the Commissioners of the Siliguri municipality under the said Notification shall extend up to the 31st day of December, 1952.
