(1) The State Government may, by general or proces- special order, prohibit, restrict or impose conditions upon, rasa ings, the holding of or taking part in processions, meetings or meet etc. assemblies which, in its opinion, are likely to disturb the communal peace or to endanger the safety or stability of the State. (2) Any police officer may take such steps, and use such force, as may be reasonably necessary for securing compli- ance with any order made under this section. (3) If any person contravenes any order made under this section, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine or with both. Control of
