Notwithstanding anything contained in clause (2) of the proviso to section 16 of the Bengal Municipal Act, 1932, and in notification No. M.1M-16 /50(II), dated the 2nd May, 1950, as amended by notification No. M.1M- 16/50, dated the 9th February, 1951, in respect of the Commissioners of the Rampurhat Munici- pality, and (b) in notification No. M.1M-48/50(II), dated the 15th May, 1950, as amended by notification No. 11.1M- 48/50, dated the 10th February, 1951, in respect of the Commissioners of the Bolpur Municipality, the period of appointment of the Commissioners of the Rampurhat Municipality under the notifications mentioned in clause (a) and the period of appointment of the Commis- sioners of the Bolpur Municipality under the notifications mentioned in clause (b) shall extend up to the nst day of December, 1952.
