(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, a member, other than an ex officio member, shall hold office for such term, not exceeding three years, as the State Government may specify, and such term shall be computed from the date on which the name of the member is published under section 7. (2) On the expiry of the term of office as specified under sub- section (1), a member may be re-nominated.
