The appointment of the Chairman under clause (a) of section 4 shall be for such period, not exceeding four years, as the State Govern- ment may, by notification published in the Official Gazette, specify. On the expiry of the period or appointment as aforesaid, the Chairman may be reappointed for such period as the State Government may determine so, however, that the total period of appointment (including the period of reappointment) as Chairman shall not exceed eight years.
