(1) The Vice-Chancellor of the University shall be The vice- appointed by the Chancellor in consultation with the chancellor. Minister. (2) If the Vice-Chancellor is, by reason of leave, illness or other cause, temporarily unable to exercise the powers and perform the duties of his office, the University may, subject to the approval of the 'Chancellor, appoint one of its members to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the V ice-C h ancellor. (3) If a vacancy occurs in the office of the Vice-Chancellor by reason of his resignation or death or the expiration of him term of office, the Chancellor shall appoint a new Vice- Chancellor and pending such appointment the University shall, subject to the approval of the Chancellor, appoint one of its members to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Vice-Chancellor.
