- S. 1(1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Prohibition of Short title, extent and commence- ment
- S. 2In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— Definitions
- S. 3(1) Ragging within an educational institution is hereby prohibited
- S. 4Section 4 imposes up to two years' imprisonment or a fine of up to ₹5,000 for violating anti-ragging provisions.
- S. 5Section convicts students of ragging offenses to automatic dismissal and permanent ban from the institution.
- S. 6Section mandates educational institution heads to investigate ragging complaints and expel offenders.
- S. 7Section allows dismissed or expelled students to appeal to a state committee, whose decision is final.
- S. 8Section 8 allows students or guardians to report non-compliance with anti-ragging measures to a designated committee, which then investigates and recommends actions.
- S. 9Section 9 overrides any conflicting laws in force in West Bengal.
- S. 10(1) The State Government may by notification make rules for carrying out the purposes of this Act
