No act shall be an offence for the purposes of sub- section (1) of section 29 if it is done- (a) in the exercise of any right in or over such forest, or (b) in respect of a vested forest, with the permission in writing of a Forest-officer, or (c) in respect of a controlled forest, with the permission in writing of the owner thereof or of his authorised agent, or (d) in accordance with rules made under this Act.
