(1) The Governor shall, by virtue of his office, be the Chancellor ChoKcellor. of the University. He shall be the head of the University and the President of the Court and shall, when present, preside over the meetings of the Court. (2) The Chancellor shall exercise such powers as may be conferred on him by or under the provisions of this Act. (3) Where power is confen-ed upon the Chancellor to make nominations to any authority or body of the University, the Chancellor shall, to the extent necessary, nominate persons to represent interests not otherwise adequately represented. 250 The North Bengal University Act, 1981.
