(1) With effect from the date of an order made under sub-section (1) of section 60,— (a) all members of the Corporation, the Mayor-in-Council and any Committee of the Corporation constituted under this Act shall vacate their respective offices, and (b) all the powers and duties, which under the provisions of this Act or any rule, regulation or by-law made thereunder may be exercised or performed by the Corporation or the Mayor-in-Council or any committee of the Corporation or the Mayor or such other powers and duties as may be specified in the order, shall, subject to the direction issued by the State Government, be exercised or performed by such person or persons as the State Government may appoint in this behalf: PART nil THE KOLKATA GAZETTE. (2) For the avoidance of doubts it is hereby declared that an order of dissolution made under sub-section (1) of section 60 shall not effect or imply in any way the dissolution of the Corporation as a body corporate. (3) Every order made by the State Government under sub-section (1) of section 60 shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before the State Legislature, while it is in session, for a total period of fourteen days which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions.
