(1) If it appears to the Chairman-in-Council that any building or the site thereof is, in consequence of its condition or of its situation with reference to any hillside or bank, unsafe, it may, by written notice, prohibit the owner or any other person from occuping or continuing to occupy such building or from permitting it to be occupied until the building or the site, as the case may be, is rendered safe to the satisfaction of the Chairman-in- Council. (2) If it appears to the Chairman-in-Council that the drainage of, or the latrine accommodation provided for, any masonry or framed building is defective, it may, by written notice, prohibit the owner from letting the building for occupation until the defects have been remedied to its satisfaction.
