(1) The State Government may, if it considers necessary so to do, constitute a Joint Committee for more than one Municipality, or for one or more Municipalities with other local authority or local authorities for any purpose in which they are jointly interested or for delegating to it any power or function which calls for joint action. (2) The Joint Committee shall consist of the following members:— (i) two nominees of each constituent Municipality or local authority, (ii) one nominee of each of the concerned departments of the State Government or of the concerned local authorities, (iii) such expert or experts as the State Government may nominate, (iv) Director of Local Bodies or his representative who shall also act as the convener of the committee. (3) The procedure of transaction of business by a Joint Committee shall be such as may be prescribed. CHAPTER IV Election of Councillors.
