The State Government may make rules to provide for the proper analysis of the water of any water-works, tank, well, spring or any water-course or other source, unused or likely to be used for drinking or culinary purposes in any municipal area and, in particular, may require the Chairman-in-Council to take samples of water in the manner prescribed and make it over at such time and place, and to such person or persons, as the State Government may appoint in this behalf. 316 The West Bengal Municipal Act, 1993.
