(1) The Chairman or the Vice-Chairman or any other member of a Board may resign his office by giving notice in writing— (a) in the case of the Chairman of a Board, to the State Government, and (b) in the case of the Vice-Chairman or any other member of a Board, to the Chairman of the Board who, shall forthwith lay the notice before the Board, and such resignation shall take effect from the date on which the resignation is accepted by the Etate Government or this Board, as the case may be. (2) Leave of absence may be granted— • (1) to the Chairman of the Board, by the State Government, and (b) to the Vice-Chairman or any other member of the Board, by the Board. (3) Casual vacancies in the office of the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman or any appointed or elected member of the Board may be filled up by appointment or election, as the case may be, in the same manner in which the persons, in whose seats such casual vacancies occur, were appointed or elected and any person appointed or elected to fill any such casual vacancy shall hold office for the remainder of the term of office of the person in whose place he is so appointed or elected.
